Ivory Coast's export promotion agency, Côte d'Ivoire Export, launched a 500mn FCFA (€762,000) program on October 23 to help 30 Ivorian companies sell abroad, with the aim of raising their export sales by at least 20%, Koaci reported. The program, financed by the industrial upgrading fund FREMIN, runs until the end of May 2027.
Analysis: The support averages about 16.7mn FCFA (€25,400) per company, by our calculation, a modest amount compared with Ivory Coast's 12,354bn FCFA (€18.8bn) in goods exports in 2024. Results will depend on which firms receive the funds and how they use them. The 2026-2030 development plan aims to raise industry's share of GDP to 30% by 2030, including through more exports of processed goods. The agency has not identified recipients or explained the starting point for its 20% export-growth goal. The program ends in May 2027, when progress may be assessed.
